How does it work?

Online couple therapy is conducted via video sessions, where the therapist guides you through various exercises and discussions. The focus is on:

A structured process tailored to you

Online couple therapy follows a process consisting of three phases that help you rebuild and strengthen your relationship:

Stage 1: Breaking negative patterns

First session

You start with a joint session lasting 1.5 hours.

Two individual sessions

Next, you will book two individual sessions of 50 or 75 minutes, during which we will review your attachment history. See the link here.

Sessions focusing on “Breaking negative patterns”

This work consists of couples’ sessions lasting 60 or 75 minutes, depending on how much time you need to work from session to session. When you are familiar with the work, 60 minutes is preferable.

Stage 2 – Strengthening closeness

This phase focuses on deepening the bonds between you. The therapist guides you in managing vulnerability and intimacy, and if there are sexual challenges, you work on communication and needs.

We begin with two individual sessions, if you would like to reflect on the individual standpoints each of you has reached during your journey so far.

Individual sessions

Two sessions where we delve deeper into intimacy, longings, and barriers, including your sexual relationship, should you wish to address this.

Couples sessions for greater closeness

Now, we have a typical number of sessions (60-75 minutes) that help you engage in vulnerable conversations about needs, fears, insecurities, shame, deeper desires for intimacy, etc. Phase 1 has established greater trust and security between you. In Phase 2, the therapist can guide you into a deeper and more intimate and safe space. Including feeling safer to address sexual or intimate matters.

Stage 3 – Maintaining intimate dynamics

You adopt new strategies that help you fulfill your longings and dreams. The focus is on preserving closeness and strengthening the relationship in everyday life.
